Rostec gets permit for mass production of PD-14 aircraft engines

MOSCOW, Feb 9 (PRIME) -- Russian state industrial corporation Rostec has received a permit for mass production of PD-14 aircraft engines for the MC-21 aircraft, the corporation said in a statement on Tuesday.

The Federal Air Transport Agency has issued a certificate of approval to Rostec’s unit UEC-Perm Engines.

“PD-14 has become the pioneer of an array of Russian propulsion systems that utilize the most up-to-date technologies and materials. The certificate allows us to start mass production of the engines. In 2021, we plan to produce several new PD-14s that will be used as a reserve during flight tests of the new MC-21-310 plane,” the company said quoting Anatoly Serdyukov, industrial director of the corporation’s aviation cluster.
